Valley High School boys golf coach Philip Conover has been named the 2023-24 National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coaches Association Section 4 Coach of the Year.

The Valley High School boys basketball team beat Waukee Northwest 61-47 in the Class 4A State Championship to win their third straight state title.

Forty Valley High School entries earned nominations to the large group and individual Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) state contests.

All West Des Moines Community Schools buildings are closed Wednesday, March 5, due to severe weather conditions.

Beginning the week of Feb. 24, 2025, parents or guardians of a child with an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or an Individualized Education Program (IEP) will have access to the ACHIEVE Family Portal.
Because of severe winter weather conditions, all schools will start two hours late Thursday, Feb. 20.
